The administrative setup of fisheries in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was started for the first time in 1958, under the control of Director Fisheries, West Pakistan Lahore (Ministry of Agriculture) and continued as such till June 1970. On 01-07-1987, the Fisheries Wing was declared as an Attached Department under the administrative control of Secretary Forestry Fisheries and Wildlife Department.
